Manship School of Mass Communication
The Manship School has become a second home to me. As a graduating student of this senior college, I have met many different students and faculty that have taught me about my curriculum and myself. The opportunities that I have had during my time at LSU have been endless and incredibly valuable.
Below are some samples of my writing from different classes at the Manship School. I have learned a lot through these classes, and the connection between professors and students have been unlike any other at LSU.

MC 4515: Campaigns and Elections
As a Political Communication course, we learned how to analyze campaign strategy, fundamental elements of a campaign, and different factors that ultimately affect elections and voter turnout. Our term paper (below) required us to pick a candidate and political party and lay out a comprehensive plan to win the majority of electoral votes and open Congressional seats.

MC 3080: Media Law
Another favorite professor at the Manship School, Professor Craig Freeman, presented Mass Media Law in an understandable and relatable format. We learned about many different types of legal defenses and arguments for libel, free speech, and the rights of a journalists, among other things. Below is our term paper about Free Speech at a Funeral: whether or not the constitution protects protesting at a funeral.

MC 2015: Visual Communication
During this class, we discussed different elements of visual communication complete with a lab where we learned to operate the various computer software that is used to create visually appealing mass communication material. Below are different projects we completed, including the front page of a newspaper made in InDesign, and a press packet for a politician made in InDesign and Photoshop.
MC 2001: Introduction to Mass Communication (Honors)
During my first semester at LSU, I was introduced to one of my most favorite professors, Dr. Richard Popp. He introduced us to the basic "ins and outs" of journalism and mass media, and challenged his students to think critically. Below is a research paper I submitted during his class entitled "Bias in Journalism Today."
